Tacos Dish Guide

For the Taco Seasoning

(Makes enough for 1 lb of meat)

1 T chili powder

1 t ground cumin

1 t kosher salt

1t black pepper

1 t paprika

½ t onion powder

½ t garlic powder

¼ t cayenne

¼ t ground oregano

For the Firey Sauce

3 cups water

6 T tomato paste

3 T white vinegar

1 T Mexican chili powder (or regular chili powder)

1 T onion flakes

2 t salt

2 t corn starch

1 t cayenne pepper

3 T minced pickled jalapenos

1 t white sugar

¼ t onion powder

¼ t garlic powder

Add the water and tomato paste to a sauce pot over medium heat. Whisk the tomato paste into the water to combine. Add the remaining ingredients and bring to a simmer. Cook for 5-7 minutes. Use an immersion blender to smooth out the sauce if desired. If not using blender, make sure jalapenos are finely minced. This is a relatively spicey sauce and if you are spice averse you will want to cut down on the jalapenos and cayenne to taste.

For Tacos

1 lb ground beef (85/15 ideally)

1 batch spice mix

2 T water

Tortillas and toppings of your choosing

Add the ground beef to a pan over medium high heat and crumble and cook through. Add in the spice blend and the water and cook until beef is evenly coated in spices. Serve in a warm tortilla topped with the hot sauce and any other toppings of your choosing.
