Serves 4

Five Ingredients

1 to 1 and ΒΌ lb skirt steak

1 small white onion, finely diced

1 bunch of cilantro, finely diced

1 packet carne asada seasoning

Corn tortillas

From the Pantry

Olive oil

1 T red wine vinegar

Cut the steak into 3-4 inch strips with the grain. Add to a bowl followed by 1 T olive oil and 1 T red wine vinegar along with the taco seasoning. Mix thoroughly and allow to marinate for 5-10 minutes.

Mix the onions and cilantro in a bowl and set to the side.

Add 1-2 T oil to a skillet over medium high heat. Lay in the steaks and cook, flipping every minute or two until steak is cooked to your liking (4-8 minutes depending on the thickness of the steak). For medium – medium rare steak, pull the steak when it is still rare as it will carry over 10-15 degrees. Rest the steaks for at least 5 minutes.

Cut the steak into thin strips against the grain. Warm a couple tortillas and lay down some steak topped with the onion and cilantro. Optionally serve with fresh lime wedges.
